My name is Carmine Vara. I am 25 years old and I live in the Atlanta, Georgia area. I have a job at Stone Mountain Park as a Senior Information Specialist. I really enjoy my job and have been working at the park for almost 6 years now! Some of my other interests include trains, oldies music, CB radios, working on the computer, and hanging out with friends and family. I love to travel and I keep very busy!
Since I've finished school, it has been harder for me to find things to do. I have cerebral palsy and use a wheelchair, and I need help sometimes to do things even though there's a lot I can do for myself. Because it is has been hard to find programs and funding that is right for me, I have been working on starting a Microboard. This Microboard will let me use the funding that is out there for people with disabiltities in the way that I need to without having to go through another provider. Essentially, the microboard will be my provider. This idea was started in Canada where the first Microboard was started.
